Fishing at Odell Lake

FISHING and Odell Lake have become synonymous with one another.  We are known for our Trophy Makinaw (lake trout) which took center stage in 1984 when the state record Makinaw, which broke the 40 lb. barrier, was caught in Odell.  Anglers from all over the Northwest come to Odell in the hopes of boating one.  Kokanee (land locked salmon) and Rainbow Trout are also found in abundance.  Occasionally you may hook into a Bull Trout, but are required to release unharmed since these are protected species.

This large, natural lake has 3,300 acres of crystal clear water; making it ideal for fishing as well as sailing, wind surfing and water skiing.   Rentals of boats, moorage and fishing gear are all available by checking with our front desk attendant which will direct you to our Odell Lake Resort Marina.

Odell Lake is located in Central Oregon near Willamette Pass, within the Deschutes National Forest.  It is adjacent to State Highway 58 about 65 miles from Eugene and about 50 miles southeast of Bend on Highway 97.
